The company's journey began with the opening of its first Vodacom Express store in the Bapong area in the North West Province. Building on its success and strong customer relationships, Vodacom Express Keya Rona expanded its footprint by opening a second store in Maluti in the Free State Province in 2017. Most recently, the company was selected to participate in the Flexible Format Proof of Concept (POC) initiative through the opening of a new store in Chuma, Johannesburg, demonstrating its continued growth and commitment to innovation in retail service delivery.

Vodacom Express Keya Rona is led by a Managing Director who provides strategic leadership and oversees the company's operations and long-term growth Makhudu Machaka. The organisation has grown into a substantial employer, with a workforce of approximately 46 employees operating across its retail stores, customer contact centre, and field-based Point of Sale (Merchants) device distribution teams serving multiple regions i.e. Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Limpopo and Free State since 2021.
